During a recent Instagram Live session with Brie Bella, Daniel Bryan made a brief appearance wondering if anyone asking questions wanted to know if he could beat Mike Jackson in a fight. Brie was not thrilled with his comments.
“Did they just ask me if I could beat Mike Jackson in a fight? I could beat him on the ground, for sure, I think. If WWE would let me fight in UFC, maybe.”
Pro Wrestling Sheet posted the full clip here from the Instagram Live video.
This comment came days after Jackson defeated CM Punk at UFC 225 in what was Punk’s second loss in his professional MMA career with the promotion.
Jackson spoke with FanSided about the reactions he received on social media after beating Punk and being told about the mention from Bryan.
“A friend of mine, who is a journalist reached out and said, ‘Yo, did you hear Daniel Bryan called you out?’ I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ He sends it to me and I remember seeing that headline. I was like, ‘Yo, this is getting out of control now.’”
Jackson later took to Twitter to address Bryan.

Not long later, Bryan tweeted out the following yesterday.

Whether or not a fight between the two could actually happen is one thing. However, it would appear the UFC and Dana White have no interest in booking Jackson again. White was very critical of Jackson’s performance after UFC 225, adding he got the sense that Jackson was a “complete f*cking idiot” and was “0-2 as far as I’m concerned.”
MMAFighting.com did note that Bryan is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has trained at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas back in 2009.
If you missed it over the weekend, Wrestleview Live discussed the fight between Punk and Jackson at UFC 225 in detail just minutes after it concluded on PPV.
